Five for Friday

Our First 5 for Friday!

Our first news is very exciting.  WE made it into the “Grade 3-5 Back to school Resources from TPT teacher-Authors Math, Science, and More…”

We knew it may be a long shot since we are new to the TPT and blogging world, but were ecstatic to see that we made it in.  Woohoo!!!!

This week we both celebrated finish up our courses.  No one really believes that teachers take courses during their summers off, but I assure you, it’s not a myth.

This was the week of day trips for our family.  We went to the Lion Safari and Ripley’s Aquarium.  Both trips were amazing.  Libby’s dad decided to brave both day trips with a 4 year old and the two of us.
At the Lion Safari we got to get up and close to many animals.  The fun was watching our daughters reaction to them all.  Here are a few pictures from the trip.
Thank goodness for a bus tour that allowed us to get so close to the animals.  Here's a shot of our favourite animal, the Giraffe.

Libby and our daughter in line for the train ride.

Libby's Dad, Jeff and our daughter on the boat tour.

Glad we were in a bus when seeing the Lions.  What an amazing animal.

The next day we were on to Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto.  It was incredible.  After our daughter finally realized that the sharks really couldn’t come through the glass, we were all able to sit back in awe of what really goes on below the surface.
A shark Swimming over top of us.

Another shark.  There were lots.  It was amazing.

Our daughter in the kids area.

The results of our contest from TPT Sale….. and the winner is…… Libby!!!!!  However Jeff made an amazing comeback the next day.

We had some fun working on our “All About Me” Pennants.  Our daughter couldn’t resist helping us when she saw Libby printing them off.

If you are interested in these “All About Me” Pennants you can find them  using the link below.

  1. I love your pictures from the safari and the aquarium! I always love going to Ripley's when I'm on vacation! Quick question (sorry if it's a silly one), how did you sign up to get into the ebooks? When I saw that they were released, I was wondering how the sellers were chosen to be a part of it. Thanks! :-)

  2. Hi Christine,

Thanks for the comment. The aquarium was quite awesome.
With regards to the Ebook. We completed a one page form similar to the examples from last years book. We included a back to school tip and then submitted it for the TpT crew to review and decide if should go be in the book or not. From what we heard the Ebook gets several 100 applications and they selected 50 to 60 based on tips and the freebie you offer. Once you submit your sheet it's really up to them if it gets selected. Hope that helps clarify your question

    Cheers
